Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A non refundable £20pp deposit is required to secure your date and will be deducted from your final bill. Your date is not fully booked until the deposit is paid. If you are wanting to go ahead and book I will send you my details.

When do I need to pay the remaining amount?

The remaining payment will be due the week of your wedding if by bank transfer or cash on the day is always appreciated. Numbers cannot be changed within 4 weeks of your wedding and no refunds will be given if there’s cancellations.

How far do you travel and is there a fee?

I cover Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife & Falkirk. I would be able to travel a 1hr 30/45min from my address in Dalgety Bay and the travel fee is 0.50p per mile to & from the venue. The travel fee will be added to the final bill. For destination weddings please send a separate enquiry.

Parking.

Most venues have free parking but there are some venues that require paid parking or No parking near by. I have a big makeup kit so it is important I can park outside the venue. If there’s no parking then unfortunately I can’t travel to you. If there’s only paid parking then I would need to add those fees to your bill.

How many people can you do?

My maximum numbers for the morning is 6/7 people depending on the decided looks. If the makeup is softer it usually takes less time. Bolder looks & winged liner etc a 1hr time slot would be ideal. If you have a Bridal Party of 8+ I have other Makeup Artist friends that I can check your availability with. My minimum amount I travel for is 3 people, if there is less than 3 people there is a surcharge.

What time will you start on the day?

Each makeup takes roughly 1hr depending on the makeup looks. I aim to finish everyone’s makeup 1hr before the ceremony time so that there is plenty time for photos and getting dresses on etc. These timings should be taken in to account with the start time on the morning and a plan for time slots is always really helpful. Any start times before 6:30am will incur a fee of £40.

When & Where do I have my trial?

I suggest 6-8 weeks before your wedding but if you have an occasion or want to use it for your hen party etc then you can have it whenever suits you. If you require a Saturday I’d suggest booking ahead as Saturdays are usually busy with weddings. I am available some Sundays if that would be preferable. Trials are held within my studio in Rosyth.

Does everyone need Trials?

A trial for the Bride is a must, it is essential for us to meet and discuss your ideas and try out products and looks to create your makeup vision. It gives you an idea of what you like and don’t like. I always say to brides that trials are not set in stone. Anything can be changed! I’m never offended if you don’t like or need to change anything at all so please don’t be afraid to say or send me a message after. That’s what trials are for! For bridesmaids etc it’s completely up to yourself/them if they’d like a trial. If anyone is particularly fussy, has allergies/sensitive skin or just generally worried about having makeup done then i’d suggest getting a trial.

Do I need to do anything for you arriving?

The majority of brides do get married or get ready in hotels and I know it can be difficult to organise space. In an ideal world it would be great to have a table to lay out my kit & brushes, a plug socket for lighting and If possible a bar stool in the room would be perfect but I understand this is a lot! I can always request a stool when I arrive. If you are getting ready at home please don’t worry about a stool. Just a table & near a plug socket is perfect.

Do you do Bridal Lessons?

Yes! If you are eloping or have a destination wedding and want to do your own makeup you can come to my studio for a 1-1 lesson and learn all about the perfect products/brushes and techniques to get you ready for your big day!

What products do you use?

I use mostly Nars for skin prep and foundations, concealer etc. For powder, blush, bronzer, shadows, lips etc I tend to switch up different products from Mac, Nars, Fenty, Charlotte Tilbury, Plouise, Peaches & Cream, Inglot. If you have any products you prefer to use from your own makeup bag then please bring them along. I’m more than happy to use anything that you are comfortable wearing.
